Dressed for Sale was born out of a life-long partnership, a combined interest, and a home staging pain point.
After 6 generations on the land and many industry changes, Angus and I made the tough decision to leave behind our 6000-acre wheat and sheep station to look for greener pastures.
Whilst selling our own property, we truly lived and breathed the pre-sale home styling experience. We found it incredibly frustrating and disappointing.
After our home was on the market for 8 months with little-to-no interest, we brought on a new real estate agent, who insisted we hire a stylist to dress the home for sale. The home stylist spent $8,000 to replace the current furniture and upgrade the carpet with floorboards. We had 5 bidders in 4 weeks and got $250,000 above what the previous agent said we would get, if we were lucky!
The importance of styling your home for sale became very apparent as we spent 2 years inside the real estate styling industry, experiencing the process first hand.
Staging a house revealed a clear opportunity, and we had the perfect combination of collective talents, trades and operations, and business development to realise it. We combined my many years of business experience in media and marketing with Angus’ industry expertise, to turn Dressed for Sale into the biggest home styling player in the field.
In the years since our inception, Dressed for Sale has styled over 3,000 homes in Adelaide and Melbourne, and named finalists for the Telstra Small Business of the Year.
Being the Co-Founder of Dressed for Sale has given me the opportunity to participate in numerous charity speaking engagements and I am proud to have received national recognition as a leading female entrepreneur.
In 2019, we integrated our property styling talents with Johns Lyng Group and their stack of home maintenance offerings. By joining JLG’s trades skills with our proven record for home styling, we have combined two highly in-demand service offerings to create on exceptional, full service market leading entity.
We’re excited to be working alongside JLG CEO Scott Didier, where the business will integrate neatly with multiple JLG divisions, including RestorX, Global Home Response and Johns Lyng Express Builders, to provide a more comprehensive full service offering to property vendors, and the broader consumer market.
As part of this merge, we are also pleased to have secured Natalie Leskinen, a home staging consultant with significant experience in Canada and the US, to co-lead the Dressed For Sale division alongside myself.
Natalie has styled over 1000 homes since commencing her own consulting business seven years ago, and will be a strong acquisition to the business.
Together, we will take Dressed For Sale into the future and lead the way with our genuine full-service home staging offering.

It was the best investment I could have ever made to enhance the feel and value of my property.. As a result we had a record number of groups come through the home. A very good figure is 50 groups in 3 weeks….we had 79 groups. I’d absolutely recommend Dressed for Sale to anyone who is selling their home and wanting to get the best possible price - Angelo | Tusmore SA
The way that Dressed for Sale prepared our home was shown by the very short time that it took for the property to sell…6 hours! - Peter | Valleyview SA
We were excited to sell our home but always knew that our home would be sold for “Land Value” if we didn’t prepare it for sale. The team at Dressed for Sale initially assessed our home and suggested some beautiful finishes including lamps & side tables, beautiful artwork, doonas, pillows & throw rugs, a stylish coffee table & couches. Everything was taken care of, even the finer details like vases, fake plants and display books. Everyone commented on how beautiful our home looked, and no doubt this small investment of around $5,000 provided us with an extra $75,000 once we sold at auction. We highly recommend getting your home styled before the sales campaign begins, and Dressed For Sale did a marvellous job for us. - Vicki and Adrian | Glen Iris VIC
I loved the whole experience with Dressed for Sale. On our initial meeting with Emma was warm, friendly and displayed full confidence in exactly what was needed to make our apartment look fantastic. The complete process from quote through to actual staging was easy and the entire team was friendly and responsive to any requests. Our apartment looked like something out of a home design magazine and this generated considerable interest in our property. I would highly recommend anyone to try the services offered by Dressed for Sale. - Kellie | Brighton VIC
